What happened?
SEC staff has canceled EDGAR software release 26.2, which had previously been planned for June 15, 2026. As a result of the cancellation:
SEC staff has apologized to the filing community for any inconvenience the cancellation may have caused.
What does this mean for me?
No action is required of filers in response to this cancellation. The form and technical changes previewed for release 26.2 will not take effect on June 15, 2026, and current EDGAR filing requirements remain unchanged.
If you had begun reviewing or preparing for the draft Filer Manual or Technical Specifications updates dated May 15, 2026, you can set those materials aside, as they are no longer applicable and have been removed from SEC.gov. Likewise, any testing performed against the related changes in the EDGAR Beta Environment should be disregarded, since those changes are being reverted.
It is unclear at this time whether the canceled items will be reintroduced in a future EDGAR release. Filers should continue to monitor official SEC announcements for any rescheduled or revised release plans.
