January 2, 2025: Short Position and Short Activity Reporting by Institutional Investment Managers

• Institutional Investment Managers meeting certain reporting thresholds will be required to report short position data and short activity data for equity securities monthly beginning January 2, 2025.

March 24, 2025: EDGAR Filer Access and Account Management “EDGAR Next”

• The EDGAR Filer Management dashboard will go live, and compliance with the amended Form ID will be required to be submitted through the new dashboard. Additionally, filers will be able to connect to optional EDGAR APIs.

July 31, 2025: Filing Fee Disclosure and Payment Methods Modernization

• Accelerated filers, certain investment companies that file registration statements on Forms N-2 and N-14, and all other filers will become subject to the structuring requirements for filings submitted on or after July 31, 2025.

• All filers must be enrolled in EDGAR Next and all other rule and form amendments will apply.

November 17, 2025: Form N-PORT and N-CEN Reporting; Guidance on Open-End Fund Liquidity Risk Management Programs

• Large fund groups will be required to file Form N-PORT 30 days after month-end and be required to report certain information about service providers used to fulfill liquidity risk management program requirements under the liquidity rule on Form N-CEN.

December 10, 2025: Investment Company Names

• Large fund groups (net assets of $1 billion or more at the end of the most recent fiscal year) will be required to adopt a policy to invest at least 80% of the value of their assets in accordance with the investment focus that the fund’s name suggests, update the rule’s notice requirements, and establish recordkeeping requirements. The SEC is also adopting additional N-PORT reporting requirements.

December 22, 2025: EDGAR Filer Access and Account Management “EDGAR Next”

• After this date, filers that have not enrolled in EDGAR Next or received access through submission of amended Form ID will be required to submit amended Form ID to request access to their existing accounts.
